一 Introduction to BEC3
1 Examination structure and paper format
BEC3 has four components, covering four language skills of Reading and Writing (in one single paper), Listening(using a Cambridge tape made for a specific examination on a specific day) and Speaking (involving a paired assessment in three parts)
Reading : 包括商务报告，会议记录，广告，商业文章，通知，日程安排，信息转换，说明书，产品目录等
Writing : 包括信函写作，商务报告，建议书，图表描绘等 Listening : 一般是电话会话，面谈，讨论，日常商务交流，解释和说明等
Speaking : 包括一般性对话，商务内容讨论，陈述观点等
2 Level of BEC3
BEC3 is a proficiency test of Business English at an advanced level and this
level can be characterized in terms of the following
------what learners can do in the real world of work/study
------what materials and types of tasks learners can handle
------what topics learners can cope with
------the grammatical and lexical areas learners can recognize and produce.
The "business" aspect of BEC3 affects the vocabulary, the type of
texts and the situations in the tasks.
Other aspects of linguistic competence, involving vocabulary and grammatical systems are tested at a high level, assuming that very few errors of structure will occur.
BEC3 study can improve our business knowledge ,business English level , not just teach students how to pass the examination.
二 New changes in BEC3
变化使考试的实用性增强，更符合时代的要求。
考试名称发生变化，分数分布发生变化，评分等级发生变化。
写作和口语发生了很大的变化。写作、口语时间变长（40分钟-70分钟，15分钟左右-20分钟左右），难度加大，思路起变化。

(1) Structure
本课程共20讲，第1讲为基本介绍，使学员了解本课程的重点及特点；第2-5讲，分4个专题，从听、说、读、写等多个方面加强学员的商务知识；第6-19讲，按照考试的具体形式分类，使学员熟悉考试，同时，每讲中仍涉及大量的商务知识；第20讲，测试。
(2) Business background
课程中会涉及大量的商务知识背景。
EXAMPLE 1： Marketing-----product-----product life cycle
Product life cycle : Introductory phase
Growth phase
Maturity phase
Decline phase
(Pricing decision)-----skimming price撇取定价
penetrating price渗透定价
倾销 反倾销 dumping anti-dumping
EXAMPLE 2: Business environment (Macro , Micro and Internal)
Macro environment: pest, political, economic, social, technological , etc.
Microenvironment: supplies, workforce, investors,
Customers, distributors, etc.
Internal environment: marketing, production, finance, etc.
(3) Professional words, phrases & sentences
每一讲都会出现很多专业术语。我们都会给大家做出详细的解释。
Balance of payment, surplus, deficit, current account , capital account, tariff barriers, non-tariff barriers ,etc.
(4) Latest domestic and international business situations
我们会在这一部分介绍最新的国际商务动态。
2 Effective examination skills
每一部分都会介绍考试方法和技巧，以下仅以阅读中的三类题型为例。
信息查阅类试题 介绍+方法技巧
逻辑结构类试题 介绍+方法技巧
词汇填空类试题 方法技巧
所有这些技巧的最详细讲解及应用都会在以后的学习中体现，深化。
3 Learning methods
（1） 掌握一定的商务英语词汇、短语和句型
（2） 熟悉世界贸易组织
（3） 熟悉国际商务英语有关行业的基本术语及其内涵意义
（4） 学习国际商务知识，略知相关专业知识
（5） 密切了解国际商务最新动态
这些学习方法在初级和中级的介绍中我们已经强调过了，但仍有必要在这里再提一下。
